No School Process

I call my art making the No School process. With no art education I have to learn on my own and figure out what works for me. 

I do a sketch. Photocopy. Make cut outs. I mathematically calculate how a 7” by 9’ sketch will blow up onto a 48” by 60” canvas. With available technology, this sounds laborious and ridiculous. But every step of the way I am getting to know my painting. It is part of the evolution. It becomes engrained in me. So by the time I am ready to lay down the paint, it flows.
